The iconic Symmetric 918 sofa designed by Paul McCobb in 1962 is characterized by clean lines, attention to detail and a sense of visual lightness that became a trademark of his work. Inspired by Shaker design, the sofa debuted with a channel-tufted back and slim walnut legs that made the piece appear weightless. Falling out of production after McCobb's death in 1969, the original design became highly sought after.
